We are often asked by clients if we can help them out by supplying batches of components which have been traditionally cast/forged, to be fully machined from solid. The lead time for having patterns made makes the original manufacturing method neither economic nor timely, so we take the original (often hand drawn and in imperial) manufacturing drawings, 3D model as a machined component (removing draft angles, etc) which are converted into metric while replicating all necessary GD&T, supply the STP/IGES files and 2D CAD manufacturing drawings for approval and within a few weeks of receiving the initial request, prototypes are ready for First Article Inspection.
